January 7-13
This has been moving week. We had to move from the Ancillary Building on the Temple grounds to a place called Maxwell Court. I have some pictures of the apartment. In many ways, it is a much nicer Apartment than the Ancillary Building, but it also has its draw backs.

This is our Master Bedroom - the bed is almost on the floor and King Size but extremely hard!! |
|
This is the Master Bathroom - You have to heat the hot water for a Shower. |
|
This is the living room - TV very nice. |
|
This is the dining area - we also use the glass counter as a desk for our Computers. |
|
This is the kitchen area - large enough for ME - maybe! |

2nd Bedroom - My very own dressing room with Shower

So as you can see, the apartment is really quite nice and to make it even nicer, they come in and change your towels everyday, change the sheets, make the bed and clean. Now the downside. It is the water. There is no hot water in the kitchen sink and the water is not purified, it is city water and we cannot drink it or use it for cleaning dishes. We either have to boil the water or get it out of our water dispenser and we have to use bleach in the rinse water. Since it is difficult - we are now eating off paper plates. We are more careful about what we cook and the stove is so small that it is almost impossible to bake anything.
We are suppose to be here about 2 to 3 months and then we are hoping that we can moved back to the temple grounds. They have well water and purified and you still feel more safe.
We have also been involved with helping the Taylors this week. They work for the Legal Department and they are doing a symposium on Law and Religion in Africa at the Ghana University. It is being sponsored by BYU and several faculty members from BYU have arrived in Ghana, as well as people from around Ghana. We have been shuttling people from the airport to Ghana University.

On friday, we went with the Taylors and the Kliens to check out the Yiri Lodge - this is where the people will be staying. |

This is the dining area will they will have their breakfast and dinner. |
|
This was another building next to the Lodge. |
|
The campus is very large about 30,000 students. There symposium will be held in the Faculty of Law Building Several of the buildings looked quite new. There was also hugh complexes that I think was student housing. |
|
They also have a large stadium that is unfinished and has been in this state for several years. |
On Saturday the 12th we picked up the four professors from the "Y" - After taking them to Yiri Lodge - they wanted a sightseeing tour of Ghana. We took them to the "Pit" for a buying experience! We then took them to see the temple in Accra. They wanted to do a session, but the temple closes at 12 noon on Saturday's.

It looks like you're keeping busy! I especially love the Zen bed. I'm thinking about doing the same in our house.
